Rambo

Most of the people that will rent or purchase this DVD have already seen the previous Rambo films and know exactly what they are getting into. If you got the chance to see “Rocky Balboa”, then you know that although everyone predicted it was going to be horrible. The aging fighter far too old to make the movie believable. But what happened was the movie wasn’t about boxing. It was about a boxer and his life. And it was really good (especially if you have children). Now, with that said, take that same attitude into Rambo. He isn’t trying to be the superman he was in the previous movies. He isnt over doing it. He plays the character like it should be played, an aging ex-solder who does what has to to survive. and it’s good.
Here’s how it goes. When we find John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) this time, it’s 20 years later. And it’s actually been 20 years since the last Rambo. He has given up everything, no lives Thailand, keeps to himself, and pays the rent by capturing snakes for the locals. He declines a request to take a small group of missionaries up the river to civil-war torn Burma. He tries to explain to the group that its too dangerous. Once he is convinced by a young girl in the group to take them in this is when the movie takes off. Of course they missionaries get captured and John has to lead a small special forces group to get them back. The problem, none of the so called special forces men are as experienced and capable as Rambo. The action is great and just might be the goriest shoot-em up is history.
Plot: Basically non-existent but who cares. this is an action movie, better yet a Rambo movie! You know what to expect. Bodies, destruction, gore. Lots of gore. Get the hostages, and kill everyone is the plot. that’s right everyone.
Acting: Surprisingly good, Stallone does not try to over act or over perform. its very believable. and although the supporting cast isn’t really much, they are all good.
Final Word: Don’t get it twisted! you all know what this is. It’s a Rambo movie. A shoot-em up plain and simple. maybe not for kids under 14 due to the extreme gore. but if this type of movie is your thing then you will not be disappointed. It is definitely What-to-watch. Welcome back John Rambo, we missed you.
