Not for the faint of heart. Seven Pounds is a very serious, mostly adults drama about personal sacrifice and redemption. Sometimes tough to follow due the films deliberate intent to keep you guessing as to whats going on,and, what the title of the movie is supposed to mean for as long as possible. By the time you figure out the meaning of the film and its purpose, you are so engrossed, you cant wait for the final act so you can be moved to tears.

Ben Thomas – Will Smith is a treasury agent who has a list of people he needs to visit. Each person on his list has a need other than financial or monetary. Ben proceeds to embed himself in their lives, a little too much perhaps. All most to the point of becoming a nuisance. One person in particular, Emily – Rosario Dawson catches his interest, and while wearing out his welcome and being completely overbearing, manages to fall in love with her. With every ones problems in this movie, Ben turns out to be the most tortured soul in the movie. Eventually we begin to discover who he really is, and, what his true motives are.

The acting is superb. Will Smith is becoming one of the best actors of our generation. The supporting cast is equally fantastic. Rosario Dawson and Barry Pepper are just perfect. even though a little frustrating in the beginning the pay off is well worth the wait, and, the discussions after are good for the soul. Do not miss this one.
